At Painless, our mission is not just about understanding pain but about reshaping its narrative. We see pain not just as a challenge but as an opportunity for personal growth, inner strength, and self-discovery. Our care philosophy is built around empathy, recognising and addressing the complex dimensions of pain.

We are currently on the lookout for an Occupational Therapist who shares our holistic vision. If you bring a blend of technological proficiency and a desire to effect meaningful change, we welcome your application. As part of our team, you'll play a vital role in transforming the pain narrative from adversity to opportunity, empowering individuals to become active participants in their healing journey.

Location: Either remote and/or in-person.

Hours: Flexible-as little as 4 hours per week-or part-time, or full-time, for the right applicant.

Your Role Will Involve

  • Pain Coaching and Trauma-Informed Care: As a qualified occupational therapist, your primary role, will be as a clinical Pain Coach, guiding individuals through their personal pain narratives and addressing the influences of trauma and mental health on their pain experiences. You'll help them discover their inner strength and potential, enabling them to become active contributors in their own healing journey.
  • Enactive Approach: Stepping away from conventional healthcare, you'll embody our transition from the biopsychosocial model to the enactive framework, creating a personalised and comprehensive treatment plan that acknowledges the many factors influencing our patients experiences of pain.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: You'll contribute your unique insights as part of our interdisciplinary team, coordinating care and facilitating the exploration of various treatment options. Your role will involve not only developing tailored care plans, but also ensuring a seamless journey through the often complex landscape of chronic pain care.
  • Digital Communication: Conduct consultations and maintain connections with our team and patients via our digital platform, ensuring communication that is regular and supportive.
  • Continuous Learning and Sharing: Keep up-to-date with the latest developments in pain science, occupational therapy, trauma care, and mental health, integrating these insights into your practice. Simultaneously, you'll be expected to share your experiences, insights, and learnings, thereby enriching our collective understanding and fostering a culture of shared growth.
  • Emotional Support and Empathy: Offer compassionate support and guidance, immersing yourself in the stories, concerns, and aspirations of our patients. As an OT and Pain Coach, you'll treat them as integral partners, validating their experiences and fostering their sense of self-worth and resilience.
